Replit security checklist
Replit's agent writes and runs your app, its database and its deployments in one place. That power is the risk: an agent that can run commands can also run the wrong one against your live data.
These checks are about keeping control of what the agent can touch, and being able to recover when something goes wrong.
An agent with access to production data
Development and production should be separate, and the agent should never hold the production keys.
Commands approved without reading them
One approved command can delete files or data for good.
Backups you have never restored
A backup that is a day old, or never tested, is not a plan.
Rolling back code without the data
Going back to yesterday's version can break if the database moved on.
Errors nobody sees
A friendly 'something went wrong' hides the real error from you.
Passwords and keys in the logs
Logging whole requests can store secrets where many people can read them.
Requests that time out under load
What takes a second in testing can hit a time limit with real data.
Run the free checks
Two of the most common leaks take under a minute to check. No sign-up.
