Rork builds phone apps from a chat: Rork Pro makes Expo apps for iPhone and Android, Rork Max makes native iPhone apps. Bolt also builds mobile apps with Expo. FlutterFlow is a visual builder on Flutter. Capacitor isn't a builder at all: it wraps a web app you already have, from Lovable, Bolt or v0, so it can go into the stores.

Who each one suits, and what to check
Rork
An AI builder for phone apps: Rork Pro uses React Native and Expo, Rork Max uses native SwiftUI.
Best for: Phone-first apps built from a chat, with publishing help built in.
Check before launch: Rork Max apps are iOS-only. Keep paid API keys on Rork's backend or your own server, and add in-app account deletion.
Rork security checklistBolt (with Expo)
Bolt's chat builder, which uses Expo when you ask it for a mobile app.
Best for: People already using Bolt who want an iPhone and Android version.
Check before launch: You build and submit with Expo's EAS service and your own developer accounts. Keep secret keys out of EXPO_PUBLIC_ variables.
Bolt (with Expo) security checklistFlutterFlow
A visual builder for mobile, web and desktop apps on Google's Flutter, with AI help.
Best for: People who like designing screens visually and want Firebase or Supabase built in.
Check before launch: Check your Firebase security rules or Supabase Row Level Security: the app talks to the database directly.
Capacitor
A free, open-source runtime that turns an existing web app into iOS and Android apps.
Best for: People with a working web app, from Lovable, Bolt or v0, who want it in the stores.
Check before launch: Apple rejects wrappers that only repeat the website (Guideline 4.2). Remove live-reload server settings before release.

Questions
- What is the best AI tool to build a mobile app?
- For a new phone-first app from a chat, Rork is built for exactly that, and Bolt can do it with Expo. If you already have a web app, wrapping it with Capacitor reuses your work.
- Can Rork apps go on Google Play?
- Rork Pro apps can, as an Android App Bundle you upload in Play Console. Rork's FAQ says Rork Max apps are iOS-only and cannot be published to Google Play.
- Is a Capacitor app a real app?
- Yes, it's installed from the stores and can use native features through plugins. Its screens are web pages, though, so Apple expects it to offer more than the website does.
