Lovable vs Bolt vs v0 vs Replit

All four build working web apps from a chat. Lovable is the most guided path to a full app with a database and sign-in. Bolt is fast and flexible about frameworks. v0 fits people who want Next.js on Vercel. Replit gives the most built-in infrastructure, with its own database and hosting. Whichever you pick, check database rules and secret keys before launch.

Who each one suits, and what to check
Lovable
A chat-based app builder that makes React apps with a Supabase-based backend.
Best for: Non-developers who want a complete app, with sign-in and a database, from conversation.
Check before launch: Check that every database table has Row Level Security with owner-only policies before you share the app.
Lovable security checklistBolt
StackBlitz's in-browser app builder, which runs the whole project inside your browser tab.
Best for: Fast prototypes, and people who want to choose their framework.
Check before launch: Check that no secret API keys ended up in browser code, and that the database has access rules.
Bolt security checklistv0
Vercel's AI builder, strongest at React and Next.js interfaces, deployed on Vercel.
Best for: People who want Next.js code and Vercel hosting, or polished UI to build on.
Check before launch: Check that server actions and API routes verify the signed-in user, and that no secret uses NEXT_PUBLIC_.
v0 security checklistReplit
A browser coding environment with an AI Agent, built-in database, sign-in and hosting.
Best for: People who want everything in one place, in many languages, including backends.
Check before launch: Keep the Agent away from production data: use the separate development database and checkpoints.

Questions
- Which AI app builder is best for beginners?
- Lovable is usually the most guided start, because it sets up the database and sign-in for you. Bolt and v0 are close behind for front ends. All of them still need a security check before launch.
- Can I move my app from one builder to another?
- Mostly, yes: all four can export code or sync it to GitHub. Moving the database and sign-in is the hard part, so plan that before you have real users.
- Are apps built with these tools secure?
- They can be, but none of them guarantees it. The common gaps are database tables without access rules, secret keys in browser code and permission checks done only in the browser.
